KERMES OAK AND CISTUSES

Route POI

Introduction

This undergrowth with kermes oak and cistus is not as thick as garrigue and can be found in places which have been affected by processes like fires and replanting, which leave ideal terrain for colonisation by cistuses.

These bushy formations are the favoured habitat of some small birds like the Sardinian warbler, the Dartford warbler and the black-eared wheatear among others.
