Description

The narrowest part river of Tosa

We started the route at the parking lot at Plaça del Raig, at the entrance of Queralbs, and we follow Carrer del Pla first and the one after the Church later.
We then arrive at the village's laundry and admire the Romanesque church of Sant Jaume of Queralbs and its spectacular porch.
We leave the urban nucleus along a path between dry stone walls and old fields. Soon we arrive at a broad, soft relief track that will allow us to walk comfortably and admire this wonderful environment in the Natural Park of the Capçaleres del Ter and Freser.
The route leads us between fields of dall and ash trees to get to the Colonel fountain around Monell. We are on the way now for a beautiful ash forest until we find the course of the Tosa river, where lush vegetation turns the environment into a cool and gloomy place.
Accompanied by the sound of the water, we enter into a special and magical atmosphere, which takes us to "Estret del Forn", a natural barrier that prevents us from passing.
In the last section and with caution, we will cross the river twice to get closer to the strait. In this area there are many caves and potholes where remains of the Bronze Age and the Iberian era have been found.

The return to the starting point will be done along the same path.
